Our organisation Burma Projekt e.V. was founded by an initiative of Burmese people living in Berlin and their German friends in 1991. Currently Burma Projekt e.V. has about 50 members, who are predominantly engaged in the support of Burmese victims of civil war and poverty and try to promote the cultural exchange between Burmese and German people.
We just started the translation of this site, more soon !
According to our statutes, Burma Projekt e.V. aims for
- the cultural exchange between the Burmese and the German people,
- spreading of information on Burma in Germany,
- Poverty reduction in Burma.
The projects organised in the past were focused on educational and humanitarian aid and were implemented in collaboration with NGOs and other foundations in Thai-Burmese areas. Since 1993 most of the members have visited Burma and have been successfully involved in educational and medical projects with local organisations. We believe firmly that such projects are the foundation of development in civil society in such period of crisis.
We could implement such projects, because we as Burmese know the complexity of the political situation inside Burma. We can differentiate the priorities of the needs of adults and children who are really in need of help.
Burma Projekt e.V. holds meetings every month and is open to all people interested in the country, culture and people of Burma.
Burma Projekt e.V. has been officially registered since 1991 as a tax-privileged association at the Berlin "Finanzamt für Körperschaften".
We appreciate any kind of help and support for our activities.

Burma Projekt e.V.
